Marin Alsop: Women's Conducting Masterclass

Chloe Dufresne is one of the selected participants for the Marin Alsop conducting masterclass with the BBc concert orchestre.

Get a fascinating insight into the skills and techniques needed to steer an orchestra in order to achieve the desired artistic outcome at this masterclass.

Southbank Sinfonia, joined by musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra, are taken through through a variety of repertoire by five conductors who receive expert guidance and feedback from both Alsop and the musicians.

The orchestral conducting class under the tutelage of the new conducting professor are presenting a set of works of the great Ludwig van Beethoven.

The orchestral conducting class under the tutelage of the new conducting professor are presenting a set of works to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the great Ludwig van Beethoven. During the concert we will see the orchestral conducting students conducting the 4th piano concerto, the Romance no.2 in F major and the monumental 5th symphony. Soloists from the Sibelius Academy and the rehearsal orchestra of the conducting class.
